Wonka X Blue Bunny 3D Concept Assets
Two bespoke 3D assets produced for a Gratsy x Blue Bunny Wonka-branded activation — a replica gate and a self-resetting Rube Goldberg marble machine, both designed to be built in real life.
Overview
Gratsy came to me with a two-part brief for a Wonka x Blue Bunny branded activation. The first ask was a faithful 3D replica of the iconic wrought-iron gate from the 1971 film — scaled to fit a 10 ft wide by 9.1 ft opening — to serve as a photo moment and physical entrance piece. The second was a Wonka-branded Rube Goldberg marble machine: a self-contained, continuously looping display that visitors could watch and interact with, all within a 7.5 ft tall, 4 ft wide, 3 ft deep footprint.
Both assets were produced as fully realized 3D concepts in Blender — detailed enough to hand off as fabrication references, with materials, scale figures, and dimensional context included throughout.

Part 01
The Wonka Gate
The gate was modeled directly from the original film prop — the ornate wrought-iron arch bearing the Wonka lettering in spiraling script, flanked by decorative finials and backed by the full fence panel with its signature diamond-lattice base and circular scrollwork mid-section.
Starting from reference frames pulled from the 1971 film, the model was built to match the proportions of the original as closely as possible while being adapted to the client’s specified opening dimensions. The result is a fabrication-ready reference asset with realistic material shading and scale context.
Part 02
The Marble Machine
Wacky by design, but engineered to actually work — every stage had to automatically reset so the machine could run indefinitely.
The machine is built around a central vertical column with a top funnel-and-platform that feeds balls into the system. From there, balls travel through a peg-board deflector, wind down spiral acrylic rails, pass through a decorative wire-form wheel at the base, and collect in catch bowls that return them to the start. The twin barber-pole columns flanking the peg board are pure Wonka brand flavor — colorful, playful, and unmistakably on-theme.
All elements were designed to fit within the 7.5 × 4 × 3 ft constraint with a scale figure included throughout the modeling process for fabrication reference.
